Yesterday we were delighted to have an esteemed guest speaker, Prof Ramalingam Chithiramohan, a Consultant Psychiatrist, visiting Professor of Psychiatry at University of Madras and former Deputy Medical Director and Director of Governance and Service Effectiveness at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust join us at Boughton House in Spratton.
His informative presentation about Schizophrenia entitled: ‘Negative symptoms in schizophrenia and evidence-based combination treatments’ was very well received. It was not only useful in helping us all to better understand the challenges associated with negative symptoms in Schizophrenia but also provided a very useful informal forum for asking questions and sharing knowledge during the Q and A session.
These regular external speaker events are part of SMHC’s ongoing education programme to improve care for our service services by staying abreast of the latest clinical care developments so that our SMHC managers, clinicians and carers can deliver effective, up-to-date care programmes.
Thank you to Prof Mohan for so generously sharing his time and his knowledge yesterday, it was much appreciated. And well done to Dr Omer and Team for organising another excellent educational speaker event which was enjoyed by all.
