Sean Sidhu-Brar
Chairman
Nisharn (Sean) Sidhu-Brar is an astute specialist criminal Barrister, Mental Healthcare Executive, registered Mental Health Nurse and retired part-time Judge. As a SMHC Founder he uses his unique dual legal and mental health experince and skills to continue build the organisation, both through acquisition and organic growth, into a successful regional care provider. Sean, as Chairman of the Board, balances strategic decision-making and financial discipline with a hands-on, transformational leadership approach.
Dr Imran Malik
CEO
Dr Imran Malik, a driven senior healthcare Executive and Consultant Psychiatrist, joined SMHC in 2011. As the CEO and Medical Director he drives the SMHC vision with his effective, empathetic leadership style. Imran has developed new services, improved quality, and initiated growth strategies. He has influenced national healthcare policies via his various executive roles at the Royal College of Psychiatrists where he engaged with Ministry of Justice, Department of Health & the Parliamentary Health & Social Care Select Committee.
Kelly Mulhern
Chief Nurse
Kelly Mulhern is a dynamic senior mental healthcare Executive with extensive experience in the NHS and independent healthcare sector. Kelly joined SMHC in 2015. As the Nominated Individual for CQC and the Chief Nurse at SMHC Kelly brings her considerable expertise in driving quality improvements and care standards across the organisation, in addition to her extensive track record of successfully turning around poorly performing services.
Wincent Kordula
Chief Financial Officer
Wincent, is an MBA educated, senior Finance and Commercial Executive with extensive experience in various Finance Director and Regional Financial Controller roles in private, charity and venture capital backed SMEs and plc organisations. Wincent joined SMHC in 2021 as the Chief Finance Officer and is building on his successful track record in creating and delivering business strategies that drive business growth.
Jasbinder Bhullar
Commercial Director
Jasbinder Singh Bhullar is a seasoned senior Business Development and Commercial Executive in the Mental Health sector. He is a Registered Nurse with extensive management experience across all facets of the organisation since joining SMHC in 1995 and has been instrumental in its growth. He has a robust track record in service development and business growth through building relationships with stakeholders and partners.
Dr Shahid Latif
Medical Director
Dr Shahid Latif is a Consultant Psychiatrist and the Deputy Medical Director at SMHC, joined 2022. Shahid is a media savvy, prominent Mental Health professional with his own radio show. He is a member of BBC Asian Networks panel of mental health experts and received clinical excellence awards in 2012 and 2018. He is also the Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Trent Division and the British Pakistani Psychiatrists Association.
Lisa-Ann Basson
Governanace Director
LisaAnn Basson is an accomplished Healthcare Management Executive with extensive experience in the both the NHS and private healthcare. As a Registered Nurse LisaAnn has worked in various adult social care settings including acquired brain injury, learning disabilities and mental health units. She joined SMHC in 2019 as a Registered Manager before ascending rapidly to join the Board in 2022 to manage Governance.
Sunderjit Bhullar
Operations Director
Sunderjit Singh Bhullar is a driven senior mental health Operations Executive with broad ranging Management and Clinical skills. As a Registered Nurse he has grown with SMHC and since joining in 2000 has worked across the organisation to improve processes and maintain standards. As the Director of Operations, he focuses on continuous business improvement using an empathetic people first approach.
Dr Farha Omer
Associate Medical Director
Dr Farha Omer is a Consultant Psychiatrist who joined SMHC in 2019, after completing her initial core and speciality psychiatry training with London and Oxford Deanery in 2017. She also worked as Consultant Psychiatrist within Community and Crisis Teams. With a passion for women’s mental health, she joined SMHC and is currently lead Clinician for female mental health services where she has driven several effective quality improvement projects. Farha has also been instrumental in setting up the medic led SMHC academic programme.
