Another SMHC Knowledge Sharing Success

Well done to Hayley Crosbie, the Safeguarding and Patient Safety Lead at SMHC, who was invited to speak at the recent Spring Conference hosted by the Trent division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Hayley delivered an engaging presentation entitled ‘Enhancing care quality and safety through empowerment and person-centred care.’ The well received presentation drew on her considerable Safeguarding experience and St Matthews Healthcare’ new robust Safeguarding and Patient Safety Accreditation programme she is spearheading.

Hayley says: ‘It was an honour to be asked to speak. As an ambassador of patient safety, I welcomed the opportunity to share knowledge in this open, collaborative forum and to be able to showcase the innovative new safeguarding accreditation programme that is being rolled across the 10 SMHC services.’

SMHC Wins Second Place!

We are delighted to have won second place in the research poster competition at the Annual Learning Conference hosted by the East Midlands Collaborative Research Group at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel earlier this week.

Congratulations to the Safeguarding and Patient Safety team for their innovative ideas featured in their winning Restrictive Practice Poster. Their award-winning ideas to reduce the use of restrictive practices incorporated both patient engagement and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
